Warm Greetings to the Department of Sociology!
As per the aspirations and expectations of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, as a new and independent department in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU), Gopalganj, Sociology started its academic activities on January 01, 2013, with two teachers and 50 students for the academic year 2012-2013. Department of Sociology has already passed 10 years of success and progress.
Sociology is a discipline that delves into the intricate fabric of society, studying its socialization process, structures, institutions, interactions, and transformations. Our department takes pride in fostering an inclusive and intellectually stimulating environment where critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration thrive. The dedicated young and energetic faculty members are leading experts in various sociological fields, each with a passion for imparting knowledge and shaping the minds of future sociologists. Through their expertise and mentorship, we strive to equip our students with the analytical tools and perspectives necessary to comprehend the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the upcoming national and global future. As the Chairman of this esteemed department, I feel immensely privileged to be a part of a vibrant academic community committed to understanding and exploring human society.
