Short Biography

  • Dr. Md Jahidul Islam Shohag is an educator and researcher from Bangladesh. He obtained his Ph.D. in Agriculture (Plant Nutrition) from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. Currently, he is working as an associate professor at the faculty of agricultural sciences, in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Gopalganj, Bangladesh. He received several postdoctoral training and research experiences in China, Germany, and the USA. Broadly, his research interest is in the area of Plant Science. Most of his research is focusing on nutrient biofortification in food crops and phytoremediation of trace metal(oid)s from the agro-environment for better human health. He published more than 55 articles, among them 34 articles in top ranked SCI journal, 4 innovative patents, several proceedings, posters, edited book chapters and books as a co-author, serve as an editor and reviewer in several international journals. He received several international funding from NSF, USA and NSFC, China. He participated in several international conferences as a presenter and keynote speaker.
