Short Biography

  • I am currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU), Gopalganj. My academic journey began with a Bachelor of Agriculture degree in 2006 (held in 2008) from Rajshahi University, followed by an M.S. in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in 2008 (held in 2011) with a CGPA of 3.950 out of 4.0. Higher studies took me to China, where I was awarded my Doctorate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2019 under the CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship.

I started my professional research career as a Research Assistant in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Rajshahi University from June 2011 to June 2014. Following my PhD, I served as a Plant Breeder in Rice R&D at Lal Teer Seed Limited from November 2020 to October 2023. I joined GSTU as a Lecturer in the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering on October 03, 2023, and was subsequently promoted to Assistant Professor on June 30, 2025.

Throughout my research and academic career at GSTU, I have actively led multiple funded research projects as Principal Investigator, focusing on nanobiotechnology, antiviral drug screening, and bacterial genetics, supported by UGC and the Ministry of Science and Technology. I also supervise Master's thesis students and have completed advanced international training in rice breeding and data analytics with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI).

To date, I have authored 31 peer-reviewed research publications in national and international journals, alongside presenting 8 conference papers. My core research focus encompasses plant biotechnology, plant stress biology, nanobiotechnology, computational drug design, and microbiology.
