Short Biography

• Dr. Md. Nur Islam is a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU), Bangladesh. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biophysics (Molecular and Cell Biology) from the Institute of Biophysics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), Beijing, China, where he graduated with a perfect CGPA of 4.00/4.00. He completed both his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) and Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm.) from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
  
  Prior to joining GSTU, Dr. Islam worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at Manarat International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He also served as an Officer (Quality Assurance) at Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd., gaining valuable experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality systems before transitioning to academia. He joined Gopalganj Science and Technology University as a Lecturer in June 2026. His research focuses on molecular and cell biology, CRISPR-Cas genome editing, gene therapy, drug delivery systems, molecular pharmacology, computational drug discovery, hepatology, cancer biology, diabetes, and pharmaceutical biotechnology. He possesses expertise in cell culture, PCR, Western blotting, DNA/RNA extraction, protein expression and purification, fluorescence microscopy, pharmaceutical formulation development, and computer-aided drug design.
  
  Dr. Islam has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications in international journals and is actively involved in several ongoing research projects on CRISPR-based therapeutics, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), artificial intelligence in biotechnology, computational pharmacology, and translational biomedical research. He has received several prestigious awards, including the CAS-TWAS President Fellowship (2018), the Excellent International Student Award (UCAS, 2024), and the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship from the Government of Bangladesh.
  
  Dr. Islam is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and academic collaboration, with a strong interest in translating innovative biomedical discoveries into practical therapeutic applications for improving human health.
